What type of paint is safe to use on baby toys?
I plan on making my niece a few toys out of wood for her Christmas present and I want to make them colorful. So I was just wondering…. what type of paint should I use? I know there is a lot of concern with lead paint and whatnot…. so, yeah. Help?

I just ask them at the paint store. They usually give me a water based latex. All household paints are supposed to be lead free now (since the 60s or 70s), but some paints are less likely to flake off things like toys. You can also use Krylon spray paint. Just be sure to use it outdoors or in a well ventilated area. You don’t want to be breathing that stuff in.
